Hi, I'm Midhun Mohanan. Solution Architect at IBS Software in Kochi, with a decade and a half of shipping Android and Flutter apps. These days I spend as much energy helping students write their first widget as I do designing systems.
class Midhun extends StatelessWidget { @override Widget build(BuildContext context) => Mentor( experience: '15+ years', stack: [Android, Kotlin, Java, Flutter, Dart], basedIn: 'Kerala, India', favouritePart: Teaching.students, // always ); }

From writing Android apps for global clients to architecting whole solutions. Newest commit first.
Architecting mobile solutions for airlines and the travel, tourism and hospitality world, from booking to boarding and beyond. Solving the hard problems before a line of code gets written.
Started on Android in the travel, tourism and hospitality space, building Lounge Management and Meet & Greet apps for airport ground staff and crew. Then moved to Flutter to lead the front-end Customer Identity team for the Tata Neu e-commerce super app, owning authentication, address management and profile, and designing the screens and features customers love to use.
A sister company to Innovature, focused on IoT. We built our product around BLE, playing with beacons and triangulation logic to plot beacon and people positions indoors.
Proudly the official event partner for CEATEC 2019, Tokyo. I led the official CEATEC app: a Flutter front end on native Android and iOS SDKs. It hit #1 on both the Play Store and App Store charts and stayed there throughout the event, and the team took home the Team Awesome Award.
Where it all began. Joined as a fresher and grew from Trainee to Engineer, Senior Engineer and Tech Lead, learning the baby steps of engineering alongside an amazing team. Wrote my first Android code on Eclair, shipped my first app on Froyo, and took detours through Tizen, BlackBerry, Appcelerator Titanium and React, always finding my way back to Android. Then came Flutter, and it was love at first sight.
Named Employee of the Year 2017 for keeping the fun alive alongside the work. Thank you, Innovature: this is the place I love, and I hope to come back one day before I hang up my keyboard.
Nirmala College of Information Technology, Chalakudy. The very first commit. I walked in curious about computers and walked out knowing I wanted to build software for life.
Much of that is thanks to our HOD, Lekha Vasudevan, who patiently walked us through OOP concepts and DSA topics with examples of her own, until classes, pointers and linked lists finally made sense. The best teacher a student could ask for, and the reason I still teach with real examples today.

Native Android depth from the Java and Kotlin years, plus cross-platform reach with Flutter. I care about apps that are fast, scalable and pleasant to use, and about teams where juniors grow quickly.
A few things I've built and led.

Nine years of Android apps across domains at Innovature Labs, from first sketch to store release.
A free score keeper for game nights and matches. My pet project: it started as a simple app, got vibe coded with Antigravity, then polished with Claude into a production-ready app people love to use.
I learned programming from my HOD, Lekha Vasudevan, and I try to teach the way she did: patiently, with real code, and no question too small.
Career guidance, roadmaps and honest feedback for students moving into Android or Flutter.
Hands-on sessions for colleges and communities where everyone leaves with a running app.
Walkthroughs of your project code, explaining the why behind every suggestion.
Tutorials I write on Medium for people starting out with Flutter.
A friendly tour of the fundamentals: widgets, layouts, input, theming, navigation and beyond.
Everything is a widget. Stateless vs Stateful, explained with simple examples.
Widget-level vs app-wide state, and a tour of the built-in and third-party options.
Helper methods vs raw SQL, transactions, and keeping SQL injection out.
